CB2/ Holidays/ Nov, 2015

We are cover star's at SMH, Inc with our wreath making the Nov cover of CB2's latest Holiday themed catalog. We have featured some preliminary images already in previous drops and on the net, but this is it folks, The main catalog out for the season. This is where all our images styled for the season are featured.

Here you will see some new images that we shot in Chicago some months back with the wonderful Photographer, Jonny Valiant.

All shot in-house at the Crate & Barrel studio, we get to work with an amazing team that pull out all the stops, All sets are designed and built on site, We spend a number of days designing the different sets for different spreads being conscious to mix up the look and feel of each set. this door on the cover was custom made and has a beautiful arch design which is very difficult to make. We hope you enjoy the remainder of the CB2 images SMH, Inc had the pleasure to work on.

CB2/ Holidays, 2015

SMH, Inc is happy to see some more holiday shots appearing online for CB2. We recently worked on the Holidays for CB2 in Chicago with the wonderful Photographer Jonny Valiant.

These images appear largely in the new Gift Guide and online in banners on the site.

Holidays are always fun at CB2 with a new range of product available each year. My favorite thing is to see what nutcracker we will be featuring as the theme swaps out from year to year, This year he was a superhero so we got to come up with the concept of a superhero in his own custom mini metropolis.

Pineapple motifs make a big splash this year and we had fun with pineapple print and planters.

With only 2 months left till Christmas day, It's time to start thinking about the season, Look for more images soon for CB2 from SMH, Inc in coming posts

CB2/ Holidays, 2015

It's Holidays again in catalog world and what is a better one to start with than CB2. Studio Marcus Hay has just completed it's round of Holiday shoots and have promptly moved onto Spring but right now as the weather cools and we had into the season of celebration, it seems appropriate to finally embrace this for real.

Working with Photographer Jonny Valiant is always a great experience and with a few weeks in Chicago, Studio Marcus Hay once again loved working with the team, special thanks to Ronnie Haynes and Cory Eigenschenk my wonderful assistants who did an amazing job of keeping calm and collected even when a few decorations fell off the trees.

This is only a soft sell version for the Holidays with CB2, stay tuned for the bumper issue for Christmas coming out soon.

CB2/ Spring is in the air! 2015

For Spring, Studio Marcus Hay made the second spring cover for CB2, shot with the amazing Photographer Jonny Valiant It's always fun to come home and see a cover you have been a part of staring at you in the mailbox.

It was so much fun to work with a pastel palette and create such interesting sets and compositions with CB2's ever growing collection of fun product, Looking forward to returning to Chicago soon to work on the next season, stay tuned!

CB2 Spring/ Drop 2/ 2015

For the second drop in the CB2 Catalog, more work from Studio Marcus Hay is featured in the latest issue in stores now. Already featured in a past post on Fluff N Stuff, this is the remainder of new images that can be seen either in the catalog or online for Spring, 2015.

Working on a number of themes, some including Hollywood Regency and also a new take on Industrial, Studio Marcus Hay worked in November, 2014 with Photographer Jonny Valiant in Chicago in the Crate & Barrel Studio.

Working with an amazing team we created multiple sets over an number of weeks, up to 4/5 sets can be up at once and when a particular shot is finished and approved, another set takes it place before you know it, it is quite a process and it's important to be super organized and ready to produce a whole new story per set as you go. Studio Marcus Hay is used to thinking on their toes and readily embraces the challenge.

CB2/ Spring Preview 2015

Back in November last year, Studio Marcus Hay spent 3 weeks in Chicago with CB2 working with them on the Spring Catalog. They have just released the Spring Preview which is a smaller version of the Catalog as a whole, we will share the rest with you at a later stage but for now you can get a taste of the work we produced with the wonderful Photographer and regular collaborator Jonny Valiant.

CB2 have some new themes which we explored included Hollywood Regency and in general the images we strove to compose where luxe, rich and sophisticated over all categories. It was a lot of fun to explore a genre close to my heart. Thanks so much for my team of Assistants Ronnie, Miriam and Sandra who helped pull it all together.

Look out for more work with CB2 in the not too distant future.

Working again with the wonderful Photographer Jonny Valiant, We managed to add some further sparkle to the festive season.

Hard to believe it's around the corner.

CB2/ October Catalog

With October come the eve of Holidays, Most companies will do a soft sell on the Festive Season at this time of the year, just to start getting all you folks in the mood! A few months ago in Chicago I got to work with our regular partner in crime, Photographer Jonny Valiant. This is the first time we have worked together on CB2, We are about to work together on the Spring Program for CB2 in the doing weeks so hopefully it will be a regular collaboration in the future.

The biggest part of the job for us at Studio Marcus Hay is working on the design of these sets, All these images are shot in a studio and each room has been created from scratch. Working with an amazing team headed by Adam Radetski at the Crate & Barrel studio. This season for the holidays we wanted largely to give a Scandinavian feel to our sets and with it Jonny matched the mood with the lighting. Using a lot of smokey patina-ed walls in cool grays with reclaimed natural wood flooring, we wove in hits of turquoise for a pop that came from the CB2 merchandise for the season.

It was really nice to tap into this world, I love this palette. I am looking forward to using some pops of more color come Spring but as we head into the cooler season here in the northern hemisphere, right now it feels right to embrace this icy world, Hope you enjoy the images.
