A few months back I had the pleasure of working with the team at Trends Home in China, Photographer Hai Zhang and Writer Viviana Wang, Trends Home contributors based in New York visited the apartment and studio to write about and photograph them for a story.

Trends Home Magazine was founded in 2000 and has become the leading brand in home magazines in China. Trends Home has the largest circulation in its market in China and is a very popular publication.

The approach was to capture the spaces as naturally as possible with minimal propping and as my apartment and studio is already set up in real life. A quick trip to the flower market in the morning and all was set.

Many of you who follow the blog would have seen these spaces featured already, We hope you enjoy the new set of pictures captured for our Chinese audience and followers.

Thanks to Editor Weina Li for taking an interest in Studio Marcus Hay and including us in this story.

For an even more in depth tour, the feature is also featured here on this blog, Click here to view

It was such a thrill to be included on the cover and the inside of Marie Claire Maison on their November issue, Titled "His American Dream" in French. having just received my copy in the mail, the story is written by the wonderful Ian Phillips and distributed by Tripod Agency based in Paris. It is a wonderful article and I am so happy to be featured.

Photographer and regular collaborator Jonny Valiant shot these images with me and feature my Chelsea/ NYC Apartment.

Many of you would have seen these images before but I love the way they have laid out the story and have used images in a new and exciting way, I hope you agree.

For the latest issue of Couch Magazine. Couch Magazine is a German Magazine for young women that focus's on Fashion and Interiors. Studio Marcus Hay has been featured before in another issue but this time in a much larger feature.

Couch had decided to run a story on my old apartment that I shot with the wonderful Photographer Hallie Burton, Some of you may recognize some of these pics before although there is a couple of new ones here not seen before.

It is wonderful to think that my previous apartment still captures peoples attention and that it keeps getting exposure, I love seeing it again and miss that apartment very much, luckily I still live in the same building in a larger place but although small it defiantly had it's charm.

Thanks to all at Couch for featuring me, I hope we can continue the relationship.

I received  a copy of the latest Better Homes & Gardens/ China from the wonderful Ian Philips at Tripod Agency who also wrote and helped produce the piece, I have featured snippets of this article from other magazines that ran this story, but this maybe the first time you have seen such a large representation of all images shot by the amazing Photographer Jonny Valiant.

Thanks to Better Homes & Garden's/ China Edition for a great article, My Chinese friends tell me it is interpreted as Crazy Prop Stylist, but apparently that does not mean a bad thing, It just means I am very committed (to props) Ha! : )

In the May issue of D Della Repubblica Magazine, My residence and studio where featured in their Style section of the magazine.

D Della Repubblica Magazine is a weekly Italian magazine. Italian magazines are some of my favorites so it is an honor to be published by them, I only really found out about it so excuse the tardiness in getting the story on my blog.

Thanks to Photographer Jonny Valiant  for the amazing photographs and for Ian Philips of Tripod Agency who wrote the words (translated into Italian) and helped produce the story.

Last year Photographer Jonny Valiant and I photographed my apartment and studio, Studio Marcus Hay in Chelsea, NYC. Hong Kong based magazine Home Journal has just picked up a portion of the story, They have only shown the apartment side of the story to my knowledge in their latest issue and it's only shown here in a condensed form on our blog as I am yet to receive a whole issue to review.

The last time Home Journal published another story on another apartment of mine in New York was 2010 so it's great to be gracing their cover and pages once again, Thanks to Home Journal for including me once again.

The feature was written by the amazing Ian Philips of Tripod Agency and a part of it is as follows, Thanks Ian for all the wonderful words and all his help in producing this feature:

Treasured furniture, quirky finds, and a host of vintage posters and art mingle in the spontaneous yet well-planned space of creative director Marcus Hay

For Australian-born Marcus Hay, storage is always a problem. As a sought after stylist and creative director, Marcus is constantly amassing objects for his job, which eventually took over his small apartment. “My cupboards were brimming with props and my work life was overshadowing my home life,” he recalls. He decided it was time for a change. So, when a 750-sq-ft unit became available in the same apartment block, he jumped at the chance.

The building in question is London Terrace, one of the most iconic residential high-rises in New York. It takes up a whole block in Chelsea and is comprised of roughly 1,700 flats, and counts Chelsea Clinton and photographer Annie Leibovitz as previous occupants.
When Marcus first saw the one-bedroom apartment in 2010, it was “like an empty shell.” The period features were still in place, but the walls were completely white, which he thought of as a blank canvas. The first thing he did was to paint it. “I like to live with my palette of colours around me,” he says. “I kind of like a grey that has an undertone hue. So, the apartment is a series of green-y and blue-y greys.”

It was not till I got a random message on Facebook from an appreciator of photos she had seen of my apartment in Swedish Elle Interior (The Swedish version of Elle Decor) that I remembered it was going to be published there. It came out yesterday August 2nd, Thanks Fia! Of course it would not been possible without the help of Ian Philips at Tripod Agency in Paris www.tripodagency.com who distributed the story, Ian is a great supporter and has published 2 of my apartments in many magazines in Europe and around the world, Not only does he promote the images but writes the accompanying story that runs with each feature. Thanks Ian for taking the time to make this happen!

And of course I can't forget to mention the Photographer, they were shot with the ever talented Jonny Valiant, a collaborator for years, always such a pleasure to shoot with him! www.jonnyvaliant.com.au

I am super excited that these appeared in Swedish Elle as I have been a huge fan of Swedish design and it feels like such an honor, Imagine my surprise though when I opened up the website and there it featured on the cover, my very own living room!

Here is a sneak peak of the cover and a small spread, It so happens that it comes out on the eve of my trip to Sweden, I leave for Stockholm next week so I am sure to pick up some actual copies then!

In the meantime, I have included the images from the shoot that appear on my website www.marcushay.com, I will include the feature as soon as I get my excited hands on a issue!

By the way I have moved apartments, Look out for my next one hopefully coming out soon!
