Sometimes it takes quite a few days when you travel for it to sink in, Even in the same country like the USA, each State can seem so different to the next. In some places it takes sooner than later to adjust but in Arizona It feels like a long long away and a very different place than my home city New York... a very different place than almost anywhere in fact! The hyper colored sunsets, the remote stillness, the eternal space.. it almost seems almost foreign, like you could almost be on the moon or even another planet!
Currently Studio Marcus Hay is on the road again, This time it is for one of my client's Design Within Reach. We are currently shooting the 2013 summer outdoor catalog. Obviously the great thing about our job is that sometimes you get to see places and things that you may otherwise never get the chance to see! The mountain ranges, the cacti, the colors here are like nothing else on earth! It can also actually be quite dangerous here in Arizona as we are discovering, there are scorpions ready to pounce and cacti's ready to spear, We all have the wounds to prove it!
My trusty Assistants Mykl, Molly and I have been traveling the routes of Arizona looking for the most amazing finds. We are enjoying the warm change of climate and the challenges of life under the sun, Someone's gotta do it! : )
Here are snippets as I have seen them, Hope you enjoy the colors and the mood I have captured here in Arizona.
