In an ever changing industry, one must keep evolving. Right now it could be said we are experiencing both an exciting but also nerve-wracking period. The digital world is rapidly emerging as a super force and is changing the way we all work particularly in the world of creating imagery for Editorial, Catalogs and Advertising. A Creative in these times has to be adaptable to change and also it helps to be multi skilled. In the past couple of years many new opportunities have evolved and it is for this reason I have decided to create a space that reflects and caters to this need.
In the past my office has on the streets, In cafes, In Prop House's, In Photo Studios and at my office at home. I am so happy to have been able to open my own Design Studio, A place where ideas can be born, where my trusty Assistants can congregate and meet, A place where clients can come have a cup of coffee and chat about future projects. Working on Editorial, Branding, Advertising, Catalog, Product Development and Interior Schemes, Studio Marcus Hay will be a busy hub of activity, particularly in the coming months.
14 floors below where I live in Chelsea, Manhattan, Studio Marcus Hay happened very quickly. Mykl Cummins and Andrea Greco (Thanks guys!) helped me move in and we set to work last Wednesday painting, moving in furniture, putting up shelves, fitting wall to ceiling pin inspiration boards, light fittings and hanging artwork. Like Changing Rooms, we took what we do on set and applied it to life.
Studio Marcus Hay is born and it's very exciting to have a space in which to create, Stay tuned here for exposure on what's ahead. |
