Lately, Studio Marcus Hay has begun a new role with Williams Sonoma in the role of Art Direction and Styling. It is a great opportunity for S.M.H to stretch out and utilize all sets of skills. Marcus, coming from a Design background, having worked on such titles as Vogue Australia, Elle Australia, Real Simple as a Graphic Designer and Art/ Style Director is no stranger to this side of the business so being able to be part of a bigger picture is something Studio Marcus Hay is loving embracing, plus it is always a pleasure working with the team at WS.
One of our first projects now printed in William's Sonoma's latest Catalog for Late Summer is a series of images produced with Photographers Peden + Munk. Having been a big fan of their work, Studio Marcus Hay worked on these projects in San Francisco. Peden + Munk have amazing work published in Bon Appetit, Conde Nast Traveller and The New York Times Magazine Check out their website for evidence of their work in both Photography and Moving Image. S.M.H has just finished another project this week with the team, look out for this one soon.
The sections here revolve around a Wine Country story using some of WS's new botanical print plates, Here S.M.H worked with the very talented set building team, lead by Brett Bachtle. We created a wine cellar esque set that evoked the mood of Californian Wine Country. Using reclaimed wood and old windows found in Petaluma, we constructed the set in a SF photo studio. Other additional shots revolved around WS Spatula's and the reintroduction of the Le Creuset Heritage line.
Look out for more Studio Marcus Hay stories in up and coming William Sonoma Catalog's.
